Glasgow United 3, AC Milanda 2
Scorers - Macdonald, Harley
Team - Mitchell, Galbraith (Harley), Preston, Evans (Fawns), Binnie, McPake (McLaughlin), MacDougall, O’Neill, Murray, Macdonald, Allan
With scheduled league opponents Invac unavailable, Milanda kept themselves ticking over with a friendly against Glasgow United.
John Cairney’s side, who are hoping to be promoted to the Premier Division for next season, were the dominant force in the first half, scored three goals and would have had more but for some excellent goalkeeping by Ross Mitchell.
Milanda were much improved after the break and with a bit of luck might have sneaked a draw. Roddy Macdonald had the ball in the net three times but only one of them counted. That one came on the hour mark when the keeper allowed a Paul Murray cross to slip from his grasp and Macdonald bundled the ball home.
Milanda's second came in the 77th minute when a long throw by king of the assists Murray caused problems for the United defence and Greig Harley drilled a low shot into the corner of the net.
Neil MacDougall and Colin McLaughlin both played well on their return to the team, as did Jim Binnie. But all the players can be pleased with their second-half showings.
