MILANDA find themselves bottom of the GDSML after two games played thanks to another disastrous performance.
Poor defensive play allowed Red Star to gain an early advantage but it was only 2-0 at the interval and there was hope that things could be turned around.
However, a general collapse in the second half led to a result that can only be described as embarrassing. Some key players from last season, now unavailable, are being sorely missed and the search for replacements goes on.
Saturday’s line-up featured a couple of trialists and other players will be tried in the weeks ahead in an attempt to improve performances. Time is against us. The 10-team league only gives 18 opportunities to pick up points and just 16 are now left.
Everyone should be aware that it is never easy to get off the foot of the table once you became isolated. The bottom line is we must all do better, manager and players. On Saturday we play newly-promoted Blantyre at Stepford and hopefully we will have a stronger squad from which to select a team.
The challenge is there for us – let’s make sure we take it on.
